KR — R-type execution, counterbored outer ring, Contact Angle: 15°. The counterbore admits the full ball complement from one side and sets the low-angle raceway geometry.
Contact Angle: 15°. The shallow angle favours speed and radial stiffness while still locating the shaft axially, which suits machine-tool spindles and high-speed gearbox positions. A single row takes thrust in one direction, so a second bearing facing the other way carries thrust the other direction. The 28 mm width across a 110 mm bore puts this in the light section, keeping the housing bore at 170 mm.

The bearing mounts with an interference fit on the ring that rotates, seated square against a shoulder. The high shoulder is the thrust face and the low face carries the counterbore, so the direction the bearing faces on assembly sets which way thrust is carried. Mounting force is applied through the ring being fitted rather than across the balls.
