A 60° contact angle puts almost all of the load path into the axial direction, so this bearing sets and holds the axial position of a spindle or screw under heavy thrust with very high stiffness. Two rows facing opposite ways take that thrust in both directions from a single unit, which is why the static rating stands far above the dynamic rating on this family — short, heavily preloaded ball paths resist indentation long past their fatigue-life figure. SP accuracy holds axial runout tight, which is what keeps a machined face flat and a screw axis true.
