An angular contact bearing carries radial load together with thrust in one direction, along a contact line inclined to the bearing axis. That one-way thrust capability is what lets a pair of them, mounted back-to-back, face-to-face or in tandem, hold a spindle rigidly in both directions under a controlled preload.
This is Barden’s own numbering system rather than ISO.
115H is Barden’s series and size designation. The 75 x 115 x 20 mm boundary dimensions place it in the same envelope as an ISO 7015, which is why 7015 appears here as a cross-reference. It is an envelope match: an ISO 7015 from another maker carries its own contact angle, ball complement, cage, tolerance class and preload.
X12 is a Barden execution suffix, carried here as a searchable cross-reference in the forms 115HX12, 115H X12, 115-H-X12 and 115 HX12.
Single-direction thrust bearing. Two or more are used in an opposed arrangement — back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem — to locate a shaft axially in both directions. Barden 115H bearings are stocked and sold both as singles and as matched sets, and the ring markings on the item identify which.
Handled as a precision component: clean bench, no impact loading, unwrapped at the point of fitting, and rings kept with their own bearing. Mounting orientation is set by the high-shoulder and thrust-direction marking on the rings, which faces the load. Preload in a super-precision arrangement is set by matched grinding or by measured spacers rather than by nut torque.
ISO 7015 is a same-envelope cross-reference for search: SKF 7015, FAG 7015, NSK 7015, NTN 7015 and Timken 2MM9115WI all occupy 75 x 115 x 20 mm. Contact angle, precision class and preload are set per brand and per suffix, and the letters do not translate between schemes — NSK A is 30°, NSK C is 15°, NSK A5 is 25°, SKF AC is 25°, Timken/Fafnir 2MM is 15° and 3MM is 25°.
