B identifies the Schaeffler super precision spindle bearing range and 7006 is the ISO 70 dimension series at a 30 mm bore. On a B70 designation the C denotes a 15° contact angle, the high-speed low-thrust option in this family. T is the fabric-base laminate phenolic cage. P4S is the dimensional and running tolerance class, ABEC 7 on bore and outside diameter with ABEC 9 running accuracy. UL is the universal design at light preload.
A 15° contact angle carries less thrust and more speed than a 25° bearing of the same envelope, which is why this is the option chosen for high-speed grinding and milling spindles. The phenolic cage is light and self-lubricating, and it runs quieter and faster than a machined brass cage at the cost of a lower maximum temperature. Light preload gives the lowest frictional heat and the highest speed of the three universal preload grades, with correspondingly lower axial stiffness than UM or UO.
Universal design means the ring faces are ground so that any two bearings of this designation form a matched set with the correct preload when clamped solid, in back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem orientation. Preload is set by the factory grind, so the arrangement is a mounting choice rather than a different part number. A back-to-back pair supports thrust in both directions and resists moment load; a tandem pair doubles thrust capacity in one direction only.

The bore is straight and mounts on a ground cylindrical spindle journal. Both rings are clamped solid against square, ground shoulders; the preload comes from the ground ring faces, so no shimming or measured axial setting applies. There is no snap ring groove.
Same-envelope super precision bearings at the same 15° angle include the SKF 7006 CD/P4A and the NSK 7006C, each on its own preload scheme. Within the B70 family, B7006-C-T-P4S-UM is the medium preload version, B7006-E-T-P4S-UL carries a 25° contact angle, and B7006-C-2RSD-T-P4S-UL is the sealed variant — all related sizes rather than direct substitutions.
