Product Description

What this part is

Four open single-row deep groove ball bearings in the metric 619 extra-thin-section series, each 10 mm bore × 22 mm outside diameter × 6 mm width. Open means both sides run clear of a seal or shield, and the rings arrive protected by SKF’s preservative oil, so the lubricant is chosen and applied to suit the application. The whole point of the 619 series is section height: it gives a 10 mm shaft bearing in far less radial and axial space than a 6000 or 6200 occupies, which is why it turns up wherever the design is space-constrained rather than load-constrained.

Decoding the designation

6: bearing type, single-row deep groove ball bearing.

1: width series 1. This digit is the one that causes confusion, because SKF prints it where most other makers omit it.

9: diameter series 9, the extra-thin section.

00: bore size code. Code 00 is the special case that means 10 mm (01 = 12 mm, 02 = 15 mm, 03 = 17 mm; from code 04 upward the code is multiplied by 5).

Closure: open on both sides. SKF prints 2Z for shields or 2RS1 for contact seals.

Cage: standard pressed steel.

Radial internal clearance: normal, CN.

Why 61900 and 6900 are the same bearing

SKF designates this bearing 61900. Almost every Japanese and Chinese maker designates the identical envelope 6900, dropping the width-series digit. Both numbers describe a 10 × 22 × 6 mm extra-thin deep groove ball bearing to ISO 15, and they interchange freely. A search on 6900 and a search on 61900 land on the same envelope.

Confirming the dimensions

Extra-thin-section bearings have a square cross-section: the radial wall, (outside diameter − bore) ÷ 2, equals the width. Here (22 − 10) ÷ 2 = 6 mm, which is exactly the 6 mm width. The 10 × 22 × 6 mm figures are internally consistent and match SKF’s published data.

What these specs mean in practice

A thin section buys space and trades capacity. At 2.7 kN dynamic and 1.27 kN static this is a locating and guiding bearing for light, fast, precise motion. Because the raceway walls are thin, it is also unusually sensitive to how it is mounted: an out-of-round or undersized housing bore, or a shaft with too much interference, distorts the rings and the running error goes straight into the machine as noise and runout. Properly machined seats are what this bearing rewards.

The open configuration is a deliberate choice. It gives the lowest friction torque of any closure — no rubbing element, no grease churn — which suits an encoder shaft, a low-torque idler, or anything oil-mist or oil-bath lubricated. Exposed and contaminated environments are served by 61900-2RS1 (contact seals) or 61900-2Z (shields), which are separate parts in the same envelope.

Normal CN clearance suits ordinary mounting and modest temperature differences between rings. Clearance matters in both directions: too tight after mounting and thermal growth and the balls run preloaded, so friction and temperature climb and life shortens; too loose and the load concentrates on fewer balls, contact stress rises, and the bearing can skid instead of rolling. On a thin-section bearing this window is narrower than on a standard section, which is why the abutment and fit figures below matter.

Published ratings and mounting data

Dimensional, abutment and calculation data are SKF’s own published figures for the 61900 envelope.

Bore d: 10 mm. Outside diameter D: 22 mm. Width B: 6 mm.

Basic dynamic load rating C: 2.7 kN.

Basic static load rating C₀: 1.27 kN.

Fatigue load limit Pₐ: 0.054 kN.

Calculation factor kᵣ: 0.02.

Calculation factor f₀: 14.

Mass: 0.01 kg per bearing, about 0.04 kg for the lot of four.

d₁: approximately 13.9 mm.

D₂: approximately 19.4 mm.

Chamfer r₁,₂ min.: 0.3 mm.

Shaft abutment diameter dₐ: min. 12 mm, max. 12.9 mm.

Housing abutment diameter Dₐ max.: 20 mm.

Fillet radius rₐ max.: 0.3 mm.

Reference speed: 70 000 r/min.

Limiting speed: 36 000 r/min.

Quantity and configuration

This listing is one lot of four bearings. Photographs confirm exactly four individually sealed SKF sachets, each barcoded 7316577121882 and printed 61900, 51-MADE IN JAPAN, batch 336L. All four come from the same production batch, which matters for a matched set.

Interchange guidance

The 10 × 22 × 6 mm open envelope is ISO 15 standard and interchanges dimensionally across every major maker. Open bearings carry no closure suffix, so the cross-reference is the base number under each brand’s series convention: SKF 61900, FAG and INA 61900, NSK 6900, NTN 6900, Koyo 6900, NACHI 6900, EZO 6900, and the generic trade descriptions 6900 open and 10x22x6. Closure is the variable to watch rather than size: 6900ZZ, 6900-2RS, 61900-2Z and 61900-2RS1 are the shielded and sealed versions of this same envelope.
