A GE Fanuc Series Six High Capacity I/O Rack Power Supply, catalogue number IC600PM502K. It is the integral power supply of the Series Six High Capacity I/O Rack — it energises the rack backplane so the I/O modules seated in that rack can operate. It is not a CPU power supply and not a drive power supply.
IC600 — GE Fanuc Series Six product linePM — power module / power supply502 — High Capacity I/O rack supply, 115 V AC input version. The 230 V AC input sibling is IC600PM503.K — revision suffix. GE’s rule is that a unit with the same catalogue number and an equal or higher alpha suffix is a direct replacement for one with a lower suffix, so a K supersedes A through J.
Standard versus High Capacity — get this right before you order:
Series Six I/O racks came in two flavours and the supplies are not interchangeable. The Standard I/O supply delivers +5 V DC only, at 6.1 A maximum. This High Capacity supply delivers +5 V, +12 V and -12 V DC, with 16.5 A maximum on the +5 V rail. If your rack is populated with high-current modules, thermocouple or analog modules that need ±12 V, or is running remote I/O, the High Capacity supply is the one specified.
Function: integral I/O rack power supply, GE Fanuc Series SixVersion: High CapacityInput voltage: 115 V AC nominal, 95–130 V AC permissibleInput frequency: 47 to 63 HzInput path: front-panel terminal block, circuit breaker, line filter, then rectified and regulated by a switching supplyOutputs: +5 V DC, +12 V DC, -12 V DC to the I/O rack backplaneMaximum output current: 16.5 A (+5 V rail)Status signal: PSOK power-fail signal to the rack for system-level error indicationFront panel: LOGIC POWER DC-output ON/OFF switch, POWER LED (lit when all three DC rails are in tolerance), AC input terminal block under a black plastic coverMounting: far right-hand position of the Series Six I/O rack, quarter-turn thumbscrews top and bottomReference document: GEK-83511B, I/O Rack Power Supplies
Total the current units of the I/O modules you intend to seat and confirm the supply can carry the load before commissioning. Unlike the Standard supply, whose input mode is jumper-selected on the front-panel terminal block, the High Capacity supply’s input voltage mode is factory-set and cannot be changed in the field — so a 115 V unit stays a 115 V unit. On the High Capacity rack the supply also connects to the backplane through an 18-pin (P1) Molex connector on the narrow board at the front of the supply; that connector must be mated for the supply to work. Isolate at the source and verify with a meter before touching the AC wiring.
One power supply. The I/O rack, backplane, I/O modules, faceplates, interconnecting AC wiring, the wire clamp and any I/O cables are not included.
Direct replacement for lower-suffix IC600PM502 units. IC600PM503 is the same supply built for 230 V AC input and is a different part — do not substitute. Also written IC600-PM502K, IC600 PM502K and IC6OOPM502 (letter O for zero) in older GE literature and surplus listings.
