MRC 407-R single-row angular contact ball bearing. Bore: 35 mm (1.3780 in). Outside diameter: 100 mm (3.9370 in). Width: 25 mm (0.9843 in). Contact angle: 15°. Precision: ABEC 3. Series: MRC 400-R Heavy Series. Thrust capacity acts in one direction.
407: bore code, 35 mm, in MRC’s 400 Heavy Series. R: R-type construction, a single-row 15° angular contact bearing with a counterbored outer ring. Written on cartons as 407R, 407-R and 407 R.
The Heavy Series section is the deepest in MRC’s angular contact range at a 35 mm bore, taking a 100 mm outside diameter against the 62 mm of an ISO 6207 deep groove on the same shaft. That section carries very heavy radial load, heavy one-direction thrust, or a combination of both. A 15° contact angle keeps speed capability high relative to a 25° or 40° bearing. ABEC 3 gives tighter bore, outside-diameter and runout tolerances than a standard ABEC 1 bearing.
1 Pc. Single bearing, single row. Two of these mounted back-to-back form the 407-RD duplex arrangement, 35 x 100 x 50 mm, which takes thrust in both directions.
Maximum shaft fillet radius the bearing corner clears, ra: 1.5 mm (0.06 in). Maximum housing fillet radius, rb: 1.0 mm (0.040 in). Mount with the thrust face against the load direction; the counterbored side is the low-shoulder face and does not carry thrust.
The 407-R shares its 35 x 100 x 25 mm envelope and 15° contact angle with the ISO 7407 C heavy angular contact section, the form the carton also carries as 7407-C. MRC has obsoleted the 400-R and 400-RD Heavy Series, so surplus stock is the practical supply route for this section.
