Bore: 6 in. The seal is bored for a 6 in shaft and locates in the counterbore of the matching Link-Belt housing.
A labyrinth seal closes the housing with a series of interlocking annular grooves rather than a rubbing lip. The tortuous clearance path retains grease inside the bearing cavity and turns back airborne dust, splash and process debris.
Because no element rubs the shaft, the seal generates no friction torque, adds no measurable heat, and carries no surface speed ceiling of its own — the bearing sets the speed limit. Service life is not consumed by wear the way a contact lip seal’s is.
For: Flange Mount Bearing / Pillow Block. Suits conveyor drives, fans, blowers, material handling head and tail shafts and other line-shaft duty where a 6 in journal runs in a Link-Belt mounted unit.
