A Timken NA55200 tapered roller bearing single cone — the inner ring complete with its tapered rollers and stamped steel cage. It is one half of a tapered roller bearing; the mating cup (outer race) is a separate part number and is not included here.
55200 is the base cone number in Timken’s imperial 55000 series. The NA prefix designates a cone ground to the wider inner-ring width used in two-row (TNA) arrangements rather than the standard single-row 55200. That is why the inner-ring width is 1.28125 in here instead of the 1.0594 in of a plain 55200 — both numbers are correct for their own part, so check the prefix before ordering.

Timken rates imperial tapered roller bearings as C90 and Ca90 at 90 million revolutions rather than the ISO one-million-revolution C, so these figures are not directly comparable with the C values quoted for metric ball and roller bearings. The K factor of 0.66 is the ratio Timken uses to convert thrust to equivalent radial load; a K in this range means the bearing carries a substantial thrust component alongside its radial load, which is the whole reason for choosing a taper over a ball bearing on wheel ends, gearboxes and pinion shafts.
One cone assembly ships. It is not a matched set and no cup is supplied. Timken’s related double cup for this cone is the 55444D.
Cones are an interference fit on the shaft and are normally pressed or induction-heated on, driving only on the backface. Do not mix a used cup with a new cone or vice versa — wear patterns are mated. Respect the 0.09 in maximum shaft fillet radius and the 2.72 in backing shoulder diameter or the cone will not seat squarely.
The 55200 base number is carried by most tapered roller manufacturers, so 55200-series cones from SKF, NTN, Koyo, FAG and Bower share the envelope. Match the prefix as well as the base number: a plain 55200 is dimensionally different in width from this NA55200. Matching cups in the family include 55437 and 55443 as single cups and 55444D as the double cup.
