A Timken 29675-90146 two-row tapered roller bearing assembly at Class 3 precision, 2-3/4 in bore by 4-1/2 in outside diameter. The assembly is supplied complete: two 29675 cones, one 29622D double cup and one X1S-29675 cone spacer.
A Timken -90xxx number denotes a complete assembly rather than a component, so 29675-90146 is the assembly built on the 29675 cone. The D suffix on the 29622 cup marks a double cup carrying two raceways in one outer race, and the X1S- prefix identifies a cone spacer, which sets the axial distance between the two cones.
Two opposed rows carry thrust in both directions and resist moment loading, where a single row would let the shaft tilt under offset load. Class 3 adds tighter bore, outside diameter and running accuracy than standard tolerance, so this assembly positions a shaft rather than only carrying it. The spacer and double cup fix the row geometry at manufacture, which is what makes the internal setting repeatable across rebuilds.
One complete assembly: two cones, one double cup, one cone spacer, at Class 3 precision.
The double cup is pressed into the housing bore on the cup face and seated square. The cones and spacer go onto the shaft in the ground order, and the parts stay together as a set because the spacer is matched to them. At Class 3 the housing bore and shaft journal have to be machined to match, or the precision grade is not realised.
The component numbers are the 29675 cone, the 29622D double cup and the X1S-29675 cone spacer. A single 29675 cone with a single 29622 cup is a one-row bearing and a different product. The same assembly at standard tolerance rather than Class 3 is a related size.
