Resolution, output type and shaft style all matter
An encoder drops in only when pulses per revolution, output signal, shaft or through-bore size, and the mounting flange all line up with the original. Heidenhain incremental encoders, Accu-Coder units, and heavy-duty sealed hollowshaft optical types with isolated through-bores have all come through here.
Model numbers on these carry the resolution inside the string, so read the whole label rather than the family name; a 1024 PPR unit and a higher-count version can look identical on the shelf. Photographs on every listing show the actual encoder and its plate. If the feedback device failed alongside the drive, check drives and amplifiers as well.
