Male and female threads, metric and inch
A rod end puts a spherical joint on the end of a threaded shank so a linkage can pivot and absorb small alignment errors without side loading the cylinder or actuator behind it. Listings include an Elges GAR-20-DO-EN with a 20 mm bore and M20x1.5 male right hand thread and an SKF SALKAC-16-M plain bearing rod end with a 5/8 in bore. Order by thread size and hand, bore diameter through the ball, and whether the body is male or female. Left hand threads are common on turnbuckle-style linkages, so check before assuming right hand. Unthreaded versions of the same joint are spherical plain bearings.
