What these specs mean in practice

One row of short convex rollers running on a spherical outer raceway gives high radial capacity for the section and lets the inner ring swivel inside the outer ring, so the bearing accommodates shaft misalignment and housing deflection without edge loading. No adapter sleeve is used with this bore, and the internal clearance is fixed by the CN specification rather than set at assembly.

Interchange guidance

Genuine equivalents are straight-bore single-row barrel roller bearings in the same 70x125x24 mm envelope: SKF 20214 T and Consolidated 20214. The tapered-bore 20214 K is a related size rather than an interchange, because it needs an adapter sleeve or a tapered journal. A 22214 double-row spherical roller is a different part, since it carries axial load.
