A Timken double-row tapered roller bearing assembly supplied under assembly number 495A-90025. The assembly is built from two 495A single cones running against one 493D double cup, giving a TDO — two-row, double-outer — arrangement in a single unit. Bore is 3.0000 in (76.200 mm) and the cup outside diameter is 5.3750 in (136.525 mm).
Timken publishes matched multi-row tapered assemblies under a base cone number followed by a -90xxx suffix. The suffix identifies the specific bill of material and the factory-set bench endplay or preload, not a variant of the cone itself. Here 495A is the cone base number and 493D is the double cup: the D suffix on a cup marks a one-piece double cup that accepts two cones back to back. The 90025 suffix is the assembly identity, so 495A on its own and 495A-90025 are a component and an assembly respectively.
A TDO assembly carries radial load and thrust in both directions from one bearing position, and the two rows share the radial load, so the same envelope carries substantially more than a single-row tapered bearing of the same bore. Because the cup is one piece, row-to-row spacing is fixed at manufacture and the internal setting travels with the assembly rather than being set during installation.
3 Pcs supplied as one matched assembly: two 495A cones and one 493D double cup. No spacer ring is used in this bill of material, since the double cup provides the row spacing.
The cup outside diameter is clamped in the housing bore and the two cones are clamped on the shaft, which is the standard TDO mounting: the outer race is the located member. Because the rows are matched at the factory, the cones and cup stay together as a set through handling and installation.
The individual components cross to the Timken 495A cone and Timken 493D double cup. A 493 single cup is a related part, not an interchange, because it accepts one row only. Assemblies with a different -90xxx suffix on the same 495A base share the raceway geometry but carry a different internal setting and bill of material.
