This is an imperial single-row tapered roller bearing cone — the inner ring complete with its tapered rollers and cage. It is one half of a tapered roller bearing. The mating cup (the outer race) is a separate part number, is not included here, and must already be in the housing or be bought separately.
3767 is the industry-standard imperial cone number originated by Timken and built to the same interchangeable envelope by NTN, which catalogues it as 4T-3767 (the 4T prefix is NTN’s case-carburised steel designation). The matching cup in this series is 3720. A complete single-row bearing is therefore a 3767 cone plus a 3720 cup.
Cone bore (d): 2.0625 in / 52.388 mm
Inner ring width (B): 1.1930 in / 30.302 mm
Mating cup 3720 outside diameter (D): 3.6718 in / 93.264 mm
Mating cup 3720 width (C): 0.9375 in / 23.813 mm
Cone weight: 3.84 lb / 1.742 kg each
Earlier copy on this listing gave the inner ring width as 1.1875 in. The published width for a 3767 cone is 1.1930 in / 30.302 mm. If you are calculating a spacer or shim stack, work from 1.1930 in.
The load ratings below are catalogue values for the complete 3767/3720 single-row assembly, not for the cone on its own. A cone alone carries no load.
Dynamic radial rating C1 (1 million rev basis): 27,500 lbf / 122,000 N
Dynamic radial rating C90 (90 million rev basis): 7,120 lbf / 31,700 N
Dynamic axial rating Ca90: 4,120 lbf / 18,300 N
Static radial rating C0: 34,300 lbf / 153,000 N
K factor: 1.73 · e: 0.34 · Y: 1.77 · geometry factor Cg: 0.0903
Effective load centre: −0.32 in / −8.1 mm (inside the cone backface)
Maximum shaft fillet radius cleared: 0.09 in / 2.30 mm
Shaft backing shoulder diameter, frontface (da): 2.32 in / 59 mm
Shaft backing shoulder diameter, backface (db): 2.48 in / 63 mm
The K factor of 1.73 is the ratio that sets how a radial load is converted into an induced thrust load in this bearing. A relatively low K, as here, means a steeper roller contact angle and more thrust capability for a given radial load — which is why this series turns up in axle, differential, gearbox and wheel-end positions where the load arrives at an angle. The negative effective load centre means the true reaction point sits inboard of the cone backface, so bearing-spacing calculations should use the effective centre, not the physical face.
This listing ships 2 Pcs — two 3767 cones. No cups are included. Two cones is the natural quantity for an opposed-pair mounting, where a shaft is carried between two tapered bearings set back to back or face to face; you will need two 3720 cups to complete that arrangement.
Press the cone onto the shaft square and to the full shoulder, using a driver that bears on the cone backface only — never drive through the rollers. Respect the backing shoulder diameters above so the shoulder supports the ring rather than the cage. Tapered roller bearings are set on assembly: an opposed pair must be adjusted to the intended end play or preload after the cups are seated, because the internal clearance does not exist until the bearing is mounted.
3767 is a dimensionally standardised imperial cone, so 3767 cones from Timken, NTN, Koyo, Bower/BCA, Federal-Mogul and SKF (as BR3767) are interchangeable with one another and with a 3720 cup from any of those makers. Note that 3782 is a related size, not an equivalent: it uses the same rollers and the same 3720 cup, but its bore is 1.7500 in rather than 2.0625 in. Do not substitute one for the other.
