Diameter, lead, length and end machining
Ball screws turn rotary input into controlled linear travel on CNC axes, presses and positioning slides, and they wear as backlash long before they fail outright. Much of what appears in this small group is nuts rather than complete assemblies: ball nuts sized to a given shaft diameter and lead, along with trapezoidal lead screw nuts for lighter sliding-contact duty. Fitting a nut to an existing screw means matching shaft diameter and lead exactly, then checking nut outside diameter, length, flange bolt pattern and thread direction. For a full screw, the journal ends and overall length matter just as much. Blocks and bushings for the guide side of the same axis are under linear bearings.
