An NSK 22207HKC3 double-row spherical roller bearing — 35 mm tapered bore, 72 mm outside diameter, 23 mm width. Two rows of barrel-shaped rollers run in a single spherical outer raceway, so the bearing carries very heavy radial load, takes thrust in both directions, and accommodates angular misalignment between the shaft and its housing. The bore is tapered 1:12 for adapter sleeve mounting.

The spherical outer raceway is what makes this bearing tolerant: shaft deflection and housing misalignment are absorbed rather than turned into edge loading, which is why spherical rollers dominate conveyor pulleys, fans, crushers and vibrating screens. Both rows sitting on one race is also what gives it thrust capability in both directions, unlike a cylindrical roller bearing. The tapered bore is a mounting method, not a shaft size: driving the bearing up the sleeve taper produces a controlled interference and reduces the internal clearance to a working value, which is exactly why the bearing starts from a larger C3 clearance. On a plain shaft, the sleeve also removes the need for a machined bearing seat.

Sold as 1 Pc, one complete bearing. The adapter sleeve is not included: a tapered-bore 22207-K mounts on an H307 sleeve, which seats on a 30 mm shaft. The lock nut and lock washer that go with the sleeve are also not included, and no housing or seals are supplied.
The bearing is driven up the sleeve taper until the required reduction in radial internal clearance is reached, and the lock nut holds that position. Clearance reduction, measured with a feeler gauge between an unloaded roller and the outer race, is the setting criterion rather than nut torque. The housing bore is a plain cylindrical seat, since the misalignment capability is internal to the bearing. The open faces need external sealing in a dirty environment.
The direct equivalent is a tapered-bore, C3-clearance double-row spherical roller bearing in the 35 x 72 x 23 mm envelope: SKF 22207 EK/C3, FAG 22207-E1-K-C3, NTN 22207EAKD1C3, Koyo 22207RHRKC3, Timken 22207KEJW33C3. A straight-bore 22207 in the same envelope mounts directly on a machined shaft seat with no sleeve, so it is a different part. A version with normal CN clearance behaves differently once driven up a taper and is likewise not a drop-in equivalent.
